Ortega Law Office was founded by Jarvis Yap Ortega, who was admitted to the Ontario Bar in March 2005 after being having successfully completed and issued with a Certificate of Qualification by the National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2004.
Jarvis Yap Ortega arrived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2001 from the Philippines, where he completed his university education. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce majoring Accounting and his Bachelor of Laws from University of San Carlos, Cebu City, Philippines. He was called to the Bar of the Philippines in 1995. Before arriving in Canada, he was a Principal Partner of Ortega and Mayol Law Office where he practiced general litigation in the area of civil cases, criminal cases and corporate matters. He was an Associate Lawyer of Richard W. Sison & Associates in Cebu, Philippines for more than four years and was likewise an Associate lawyer in the firm of Hermosisima, Sison and Inso for about two (2) years.
In Ontario, Canada, he articled in the Law Office of Francisco Luna and later opened his own law office in 2005.
